Stepping Up & Stepping In

The other evening I was invited to Stepping Up's 2009 Annual Membership Celebration event at the Pac Design Center, aptly called "Stepping up in the City." The 600 attendee event was wonderful and housed truly inspiring women and girls alike. Catered by Wolfgang Puck, and fashioned by the newly revamped Ann Taylor (turns out they hired former Club Monaco designer great, Lisa Axelson & they are co-mingling with Heidi Klum), the Stepping Up in the City event was amazing beyond words. Shaun Robinson who is co-anchor for "Access Hollywood" and author of the inspirational book, "Exactly As I Am," was the guest speaker of the evening and gave an insightful and simultaneously unforgettable speeach about girls and their modern day pressures that we oft forget. Also in the mix was Lisa Ling, Stacy Kiebler, and Andrea Bowen from "Desperate Housewives."

Step Up Women's Network is a national non-profit membership organization dedicated to strengthening community resources for women and girls. Through teen empowerment programs for underserved girls, women's health education and advocacy, professional mentorship and social networking opportunities, we educate and activate our members to ensure that women and girls have the tools they need to create a better future. and so it begins...

It feels good...

I'm finally on the precipice of creating my safe fashion haven. I can't believe it's taken me this long to get my act together...oh well, better not to dwell, right? Well - I can assure you that what you can expect to find here are constant updates of fashionable styles, people, places, and baubles. What you will not find are rants and tear downs of specific people in tragic or atrocious styles. I hope you enjoy my adventure.

Gros Bisous!!

xoxo,
June
